Personality:
One does not simply describe Soldier with ease...mostly because of how batshit insane he is. See, Soldier's concept of reality and history are incredibly warped. While there are indeed some correct things the man knows (such as the relationship between England and Scotland, as proven by a domination line), most of the things he "knows" are just wrong. For example, he believes that Tzun Su invented fighting, George Washington founded America 10,000 years ago, and that Abraham Lincoln invented the stairs. As for how the mercenary sees the world around him, that's actually quite interesting. Thing is...there is some twisted form of logic in the way he sees things/ to how he thinks. However, this logic is often based about his inaccurate understanding of topics or it contains a massive glaring flaw that any normal person would be able to see. An example of this is during the Mann vs. Machine Update, where Soldier proudly exclaimed that he had spent months studying how robots worked by...staring at a toaster. Yes, both robots and toasters are made of metal. Yes, studying your target is a very intelligent thing to do if you wish to defeat it. No, toasters are not robots.
...however, that brings up yet another interesting point. You see, despite the fact that his method of studying the enemy had faults you could drive a truck through...his plan worked. The robots did indeed fall for the fake Mann Co. base, despite how poorly designed and obviously fake it was. This seems to be a running gag in the series with Soldier, as no matter how crazy his plans are, they usually work. In fact, one could say that the crazier and more insane his schemes become, the more successful they are! His
